Biscayne Bay Fishing Miami Bonefishing Charters       Miami is home to some World Class fishing.  It's famed Biscayne bay is home to some of the largest Bonefish found anywhere!  They average 8 pounds and are considered the oceans hardest fighting fish pound for pound. Bonefish are famous for 100 yard screaming runs that test the skills of every angler choosing to target them.  But be aware Bonefishing is not for everyone.  It requires patience, accurate casting, and a keen eye.  A good pair of polarized sunglasses are a must to be able to spot them.  With all that said, if your ready for a catch of a lifetime give us a call to set your trip.

Another trophy fish we target in Biscayne Bay is the Permit.  It is considered the ultimate catch to any hard core fly fisherman.  Permit are actually an offshore species that will come onto the flats to feed at certain times in the tide.  Often times the water is so shallow that their tails will stick out of the water.  We call this "Tailing Fish" and will give any angler goose bumps witnessing this act.  Permit are normally between 5-30 lbs. but have been seen over 50 lbs.  Much like the bonefish their runs are intense and test the drag system of any reel.  Fishing for permit in Biscayne Bay is normally the best during the hotter months of the year.  But if you must catch one in the cooler months your best bet would be in the Lower Keys near Key West.

Tarpon Fishing Biscayne Bay Miami

The most exciting fish we target in Biscayne Bay is the Tarpon.  They can be found from 5-200 lbs. and just like the bonefish and permit can be targeted using light tackle spinning rods and even fly fishing gear.  Even though we can catch Tarpon all year long here in South Florida it is by far the best from March-July with the peak of the Tarpon Season being May during their annual migration and spawn.  Many guides and anglers have a Love / Hate relationship with these fish because they can be very easy to catch one day and down right finiky the next.  But the good news is during Tarpon Season there are enough of them to get many shots per day and normally we can find a few fish willing to play.  If you are a fly angler we highly advise you to practice your casting as much as possible before your trip.  This style of "Sight Fishing" is much more challenging than stream fishing.  But with some practice and determination anyone can be successful at catching any of these three species of gamefish.

*Please Remember That Tarpon Season Dates Book Very Early.  Often Times A Year In Advance.  We Also Advise Booking 2-5 Days In A Row To Give You The Best Shot At Landing A Tarpon
