The first island in the Florida Keys chain is Key Largo. It's only about an hour south of Miami and is home to some really great fishing! It was over 150 LBS. These large Tarpon can be seen in big numbers from Feb-August with the peak of the season being May. Anglers can catch these fish using light tackle spinning rods or even fly rods with a wide variety of baits and flies. If you choose to come down another time of year don't worry there are some resident fish that can usually be found even in the middle of the winter.
