1. How Do I Pay For The Charter?
The deposit can be paid online with a credit card in the booking section or mailed to the captain if the charter is over 2 weeks away. The remainder for the charter is due in cash (US Dollars) on the day of the trip
2. Is a Deposit Required?
Yes, I require a $200 deposit to hold each date you would like to book. If booking multiple boats a $200 deposit is required per boat.
3. How many people can go on the charter?
1-2 People is considered a standard charter. A 3rd person can be added for an additional $50 but not recommended for Bone fishing and Permit fishing.
4. Can I go as part of another group?
This is known as a split group or split party charter. I do not arrange these kinds of charters. This is more of a offshore party boat scenario.
5. What about a fishing license?
Every angler is covered under the captains guide license. So it is not necessary to purchase a temporary fishing license.
6. Can I Hire You To Fish Aboard My Boat?
This is a fairly common question I get. It involves me to teach someone to fish aboard their own boat. Because of liability, I cannot teach you to fish aboard your own boat.
7. What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
If you give 10 days advance notice to cancel a single day you will receive a full refund for your deposit. For multiple day bookings, I would need 21 days advance notice in order to fill those days. Since I have several people that fish me year after year for 3 to 5 days at a time, it takes more notice in order to fill that time.
8. What to bring?
Lunch, drinks other than water (I will provide a cooler supplied with bottled water and ice), Camera if desired (Captain also carries a digital camera and can email pictures if desired), Sunglasses are a Must Have Item (I recommend Costa Del Mar Brand), Hat, Suntan Lotion
9. What To Wear?
In South Florida layered clothing is very popular. I wear long sleeve cotton t-shirts and lightweight long pants. A jacket is always a good idea. Sometimes the early morning run will be cold. In the months of March-September rain gear is a good idea. I normally will have 2-3 sets onboard if you do not have any. But if you wear more than a large my rain gear may not fit you.
10. Can I Bring My Own Rod?
Yes you can bring a favorite rod or two. I will have plenty of tackle for everyone but if you would like to fish with your own gear that is fine with me.
11. What Are The Times On And Off The Water?
Generally We are on the water between 6:00 A.M. and 7:00 A.M. (Sunrise) and off the water 11:00 A.M. (Half Day), 1:00 P.M. (3/4 Day), 3:00 P.M. (Full Day)
Keep in mind it is a 30-45 Minute ride from the Florida City area down to the ramp of Flamingo (Everglades National Park) This is why I recommend staying as close as possible.
12. Where Should We Stay?
Please see the Accommodations section. If fishing the Everglades or Biscayne Bay area the closest place to stay is the Best Western In Florida City or the Holiday Inn Express in Florida City.
13. Where Should We Meet?
Please see the Locations section for directions. When fishing the Everglades we will often meet at the Cracker Barrel in Florida City. When fishing Biscayne Bay we will often meet at the ramp of the desired marina.
