Full Day 8 hour trips are for the die hard customers wanting to maximize their Florida Keys fishing day.  They are recommended for more advanced experienced fisherman that want to fish spots that are farther away from the dock and target larger species of fish. Some of these days we will travel over 50 miles on the water hitting different fishing spots.

Types of Fishing

Gulf Wreck Fishing for Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Jacks, Grouper, and Goliath Grouper
Everglades Backcoutry Fishing for Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, and Trout.
Combination Fishing Trip Reef & Shark.  Catch edible species like Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and Grouper.  Then sight-fish for Sharks 4-10 feet long up on the shallow water flats in 3 feet of water.  This is a great option for customers wanting to catch dinner as well as some really big fish.

Time

Usually, we start between 7:00 – 8:00 AM for our 8 hour fishing trips.  Because we are planning on doing a lot during our full day trips early start times are usually a must so we don’t run out of daylight.

Meeting Place

Even though we trailer our boats most of the time we meet in the Middle Florida Keys Island of Marathon at Capt. Hook’s Marina.  It is located at Mile Marker 53 oceanside.  Capt. Hook’s is a very popular bait and tackle shop located right on Vaca Cut Waterway.  Our boat will be docked right near the gas pumps and fishing cleaning table.

Captain Hook’s Marina & Dive Center
Address: 11833 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050

Information about Capt. Hook’s
Bathroom on site, clothing, sun tan lotion, sunglasses,  etc.

Alternate Meeting Locations

Because we trailer our boats we are able to fish several different locations between Miami, Everglades, and Key West.  For example if we are planning on fishing the Florida Bay section of Everglades National Park we can meet in Islamorada at the Anglers House Marina.  If we are planning on launching out of Flamingo in the Everglades we will meet at the Florida City Cracker Barrel Restaurant.  Or if we are fishing in the Lower Florida Keys we might meet in either Big Pine Key, Summerland Key, or Key West.  These types of trips are upon special request and generally for our Backcountry Flats Fishing anglers wishing to catch Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, Bonefish, and Permit. If you are interested in one of these trips please contact us via email or telephone to discuss all the details.

What Is Provided

We provide all fishing licenses, live bait, lures or flies, fishing tackle, cooler with ice for your drinks, and anything else needed to catch fish.

What You Need To Bring

Your own food and drinks, hat, polarized sunglasses, sun tan lotion, rain gear if needed, camera, and anything else you would like to bring.  Please do not bring your own cooler because most likely there will not be enough room for it on the boat.  If it’s a small soft cooler most of the time it can be stored in one of the hatches.  If you are planning on keeping a few fish for dinner please bring bags or some way to transport it home with you.

Policy On Keeping Fish To Eat

If you would like to keep a few fish to eat that is not a problem.  We would be happy to clean them for you free of charge.

Catch & Release

Even though we love to eat fish and keep a few for dinner every so often most of what we do is Catch and Release.  So if you are wanting to “Limit Out” on everything you catch and fill the cooler you might want to find another operation.  The species that are always considered Catch & Release with us are Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Permit, Goliath Grouper, and Sharks.  These are all protected species here in the State of Florida and should be released so they can be enjoyed for future generations.
