Newark New Jersey Vacation In Duck Key

The fishing has been hot despite the terrible winter everyone up north has been experiencing.  Here’s a nice Black Grouper Kelly caught on light tackle out of Duck Key.  This was one of many Groupers we caught that day that were mixed in with Hogfish, Porgies, Yellowtails, and Mangrove Snappers.  This is a typical winter time mix we catch here in the Florida Keys.  So if your freezing up in Newark New Jersey you should really get down here while the bite is hot.  Discount flights have been common and Hawk’s Cay resort has plenty of room.

Here’s another longtime regular from Newark New Jersey trying to handline a Goliath Grouper.  Yes, that’s right no rod, no reel, just his bare hands.  It’s not something we do everyday but when you’ve already caught several sometimes you just want to see how manly you are.  Big groupers like this can be found year round in the Florida Keys area of Marathon and Duck Key.  They usually hang out on shallow water wrecks and can grow to several hundred pounds.  So if your ready for a vacation of a lifetime book your Duck Key fishing charter today.

And this is how he looked on the way home.  He was so exhausted he slept the whole ride back to Duck Key.  He and his father were able to catch numerous species including Barracuda, Snapper, Grouper, and Sharks during their 3 day Duck Key Fishing trip.  There are three major airports nearby.  Miami International Airport, Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, and Key West Airport.  Your best bet is fly into one of these locations and rent a car down to the Florida Keys area of Duck Key.
