How We Catch Sharks

Our preferred method for shark fishing is to chum them up in shallow water — often just 3 feet deep. Within minutes of starting the chum slick, the first sharks begin to appear. In less than half an hour, it’s not uncommon to see dozens of sharks ranging from 4 to 10 feet long circling the boat.

You get to pick your shark and make the cast. These toothy predators are known for:

-Long, drag-screaming runs

-Violent headshakes

-Occasional leaps out of the water

Trip Details – Shark Fishing in Marathon, FL

We offer 4, 6, and 8-hour shark fishing trips in the Florida Keys. Most trips begin with catching Barracuda or Jacks using artificial lures. These hard-fighting fish are exciting on light tackle and also serve as perfect fresh bait for sharks.

Once we have enough bait, we’ll move to a prime shark location, set up the chum slick, and let the action begin.

Shark & Supper Combo Trip

For anglers who want the best of both worlds, our 6–8 hour Shark & Supper Combination Trip is the way to go.

-First: We target sharks for the thrill of the fight (all sharks are catch & release).

-Then: We switch gears to target edible species you can take home for dinner. Depending on the season, these may include Snapper, Grouper, Trout, and other local favorites.

Start times vary based on tides to ensure peak fishing conditions.
