Inshore fishing can be awesome all year long. Time of year and weather are the biggest factors in deciding what species is best to target. For example, our Tarpon season is during the Spring months of March – June. If your trip is during that time there is a good chance of getting into a great Tarpon bite. However, if your trips is during the colder months of December – February Tarpon most likely won’t be the best option. If you want to get an idea of what we might suggest for your trip check out the monthly best bet options below.

November – December – January – February – March

Gulf wreck and bottom fishing. Species targeted would be Spanish Mackerels, Kingfish, Cobia, Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Redfish, Trout, and Snapper. This type of trip is all about action and numbers. We anchor the boat and use chum to bring the fish right up to the back of the boat. Once we have a large number of fish behind the boat we use live bait, cut bait, lures, and bucktail jigs to catch a wide variety of species. Usually we catch 4-10 different species in a single trip.

Pretty much all year long. Tougher during the ultra hot months of July – October

Flats fishing around Marathon chunking lures. Species targeted would be Big Jack Crevailles, Yellow Jacks, and Barracuda. We use a variety of top-water and sub surface Rapala lures tied on 10-15 lb. light tackle spinning rods. A lot of this is sight fishing and surface action so it’s a pretty exciting bite.

Tarpon Season = March – April – May – June

Live bait bridge fishing for migrating Tarpon. These fish range from 40 – 200 lbs. All Tarpon are catch and release. We use 20-50 lb. light tackle spinning rods. We fish a max of 2 rods at a time so if your party is more than two people just know you will have to take turns fishing. Tarpon are one of the most exciting fish to catch. Just keep in mind weather, tides, and a million other factors are deciding factors on whether or not you will be able to catch one. When the conditions are right we have about a 95% chance we can get you hooked up. Landing that fish is a whole different game. That lies with how much fish Karma you have.
