Another Successful Marathon Fishing Charter In The Books

Marathon Fishing Charters I just wrapped up another great father and son fishing trip with Hunter and Riley Love. These two fish-aholics have been fishing with me for close to 10 years now. We’ve fished all over South Florida for just about every species we have down here. This time we decided to fish out of the middle Florida Keys area of Marathon. The boys were able to land several species of fish on light tackle including Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Barracuda, and Sharks.

Barracuda & Rapala Subwalk

Barracuda & Rapala Subwalk

Here’s a cool picture of a nice Barracuda Riley caught with a Rapala Subwalk. These fish are very aggressive and are always found on the edges of the shallow water flats here in the Florida Keys. All you do is blind cast the lure and work it pretty fast. I like to have the guys use the walk the dog technique. Pretty much any color works but I personally like Chartreuse. Like the old saying says “If it ain’t Chartreuse there ain’t no use!”

Marathon Fishing Charter For Sharks

Marathon Fishing Charter For Sharks

Here’s Hunter landing another nice Lemon Shark on light tackle. We had them chummed up all in front of the boat so all he had to do was toss a strip of Barracuda at one of them to hookup. There were about a dozen 2-8 foot long Lemon, Blacktip, and Bonnethead Sharks roaming in the chum slick we created with the Barracuda’s and Jack’s we caught on Rapala lures earlier in the trip. It was a memorable day with a lot of laughs and fish caught. Thanks guys see you next time!
